It’s hard to believe, but 2022 will soon be a thing of the past. 2023 is on the horizon, and it will be filled with brand-new stories and surprises from Marvel Comics. To get fans excited, Marvel has already revealed their upcoming titles for next year’s Free Comic Book Day on May 6th. They’ve got four thrilling books that provide something for everyone! Let’s take a look at what’s in store for Free Comic Book Day 2023!
AVENGERS/X-MEN #1
Kicking off next year’s Free Comic Book Day will be Avengers/X-Men #1, which will set the stage for FALL OF X, the next epic chapter in the ongoing mutant saga. The cover for this book was created by Javier Garron. Just as last year’s free Avengers/X-Men book previewed A.X.E. Judgement Day, this new book will also usher in a brand-new uncanny lineup, that promises to take the comic book world by storm in 2023!
MARVEL’S VOICES #1
The next chapter in the Marvel Voices series also will be featured during next year’s May event. Christopher Allen created this awesome cover showcasing some of the top characters contained within the pages of Marvel Comics. This critically acclaimed series will give these epic heroes the spotlight once again. Marvel Voices #1 will contain a continuation of past stories from the series as well as some original new content!
SPIDER-MAN/VENOM #1
Two old foes come together in spectacular fashion in Spider-Man/Venom #1. If Patrick Gleason’s cover art is any indication, things are about to get wild. Next year’s SUMMER OF SYMBIOTES will kick off in a major way following this free issue, which will give readers an in depth look at what’s next for Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s Amazing Spider-Man. Fans can also expect a sneak peek of Marvel’s next major epic in 2023!
SPIDEY & FRIENDS #1
Of course, Marvel hasn’t forgotten about the young readers. The hit cartoon Spidey and his Amazing Friends has made a huge splash with kids. Now, it’s coming to comic book form with Spidey & Friends #1. Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Spin will join forces to take out some of the Spider family’s deadliest foes like Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Rhino, and more! This book caters specially to readers ages 5-7, and will feature several stories straight from the cartoon that are easy for the young fans to read!
