Free Comic Book Day 2022 is not far away. On May 7th, at least 46 free comic books will hit most comic stores. The annual event offers up the perfect opportunity for readers who have been out of the loop for a while, or who are looking for something new to read. We’ve got you covered on what to expect. Here are a few of the free comic books we’re most looking forward to!

Avengers / X-Men #1

Marvel is set to debut a brand-new character, who just so happens to be the daughter of the vampire hunter known as Blade. In the upcoming Free Comic Book Day Avengers/X-Men #1 special, readers will be introduced to Brielle, Blade’s long-lost daughter, who also goes by Bloodline. The idea of introducing Blade’s daughter was teased several years ago, but never came to fruition. The story of Bloodline will be written by Danny Lore and Karen S. Darboe. This is just one of three stories included, which will forever alter the relationships between the Avengers and all of mutant kind.

25 years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Keeping with the vampire theme, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Celebrate Free Comic Book Day by picking up Boom! Studios’ free comic book issue titled: 25 Years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This issue is presented in yearbook format, and allows fans to revisit many of the most memorable moments of Buffy and her pals through the years. There may even be a hint of what’s next for the chosen one. Jordi Bellaire and Jeremy Lambert are just a few of the writers working on this anniversary special.

Dark Crisis #0

Our final pick for Free Comic Book Day is DC’s Dark Crisis #0, brought to you by the talented trio of Joshua Williamson, Jim Cheung, and Daniel Sampere. The Justice League faces a battle that is years in the making. The Great Darkness has overtaken them, along with an army of the deadliest supervillains of all time. A brand-new team of heroes must take a stand in order to preserve the entire DC multiverse. This will all lead up to the biggest DC event of 2022.
