XM Studios stands at the top of the mountain of statue making. This Scarlet Witch ¼ scale statue is a masterwork worthy of great praise. The dynamic design of this statue is both elegant and graceful.
It may take several minutes to even notice, as Wanda herself is breathtaking, but the design choice for the base of this piece is actually very intricate and well thought out. Wanda stands upon the defeated corpse of the very dangerous Avengers villain Ultron. What remains of the wicked robot is a mangled mess of circuitry and vibranium. Ultron clearly pushed the Scarlet Witch to the upper limit of her powers, whatever they may truly be. Ultron’s lifeless body is wonderfully designed, with great attention to detail, including a severed arm reaching out in desperation.
As far as Maximoff herself, she is completely stunning to behold. Her dynamic pose suits her well, as she appears to be leaping from Ultron’s remains in an almost dance-like fashion while using her hex powers on whatever additional threat stands before her.
Her costume is a classic incarnation with a modern twist, as XM Studios has been known to do. As per usual, this is done extremely well. The fabric and detail in her costume varies in design, with parts of her garb smooth, and other parts with more of a fiber-like texture. Added detail like wrinkles in the suit and draw strings provide even more character to the design. Her cape flows in the wind and adds to the mystique of her overall presence.
The additional added power effects to both hands help convey the scope of the Scarlet Witch’s abilities. The circular effects represent her ‘hex’ powers which she is often known for.
Saving the best for last, Wanda’s portraits are gorgeously sculpted to perfection. Her first portrait is stoic in nature and displays her natural beauty. Her lips are full and alluring, as are her eyes. The symmetry of her face is very pleasing as well. Her second portrait is equally as gorgeous, but offers a different side of her personality. Her lips are open while her teeth are clenched together in a focused rage. This portrait shows the powerful side of her personality.
Paint – 4.0 out of 5

The paint is as masterfully applied as the sculpt. The Ultron base is painted primarily silver, and has a prevalent shine to it, which artfully captures the vibranium skinned killer robot. Ultron’s lifeless corpse is shaded extremely well, as is the rest of the base. The use of yellow and beige is added to some parts of the base, giving it a real-world look.
The coloring on the Scarlet Witch’s costume is impressive. Her clothing is entirely adorned in shades of red, but the tones are very different. Certain parts of her attire are glossy and bright, such as her thigh-high boots and her gloves. Other portions of her costume are more matte. Her cape also benefits from darker shading in certain areas. These differing shades and tones come together to form a beautiful ensemble.
Moving on to the portraits, the Scarlet Witch has a lovely and fair skin tone. Her skin tone is very uniform throughout her body. She has beautiful blue eyes which have a slight tint of redness. This is perhaps done to show some physical manifestation of her Omega-level power set. Her elegant hair is shaded with differing browns and some black. Her red headpiece is partially metallic and matte, and the red jewel in the middle is bewitching.

This is a downright gorgeous statue. Scarlet Witch’s portrait (especially the stoic portrait) is breathtaking and it takes a moment to realize that the rest of this masterpiece is just as amazing. This stunning beauty retails a t $1,099.00 SGD and she is worth every penny. The prestige price comes in at $989.10 SGD. A $400.00 deposit is also required. This is truly a one-of-a-kind sculpture and quite frankly, with XM Studios, we’ve come to expect nothing less.
